BLACK VELVET CUPCAKES Quick & Easy
These black cupcakes just look super classy. The muffins and the frosting are colored with black food coloring, but you can also use activated charcoal tablets, for example. Whether for Halloween or a Black & White party, the cupcakes always fit and taste super delicious.
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 180 °C O/U and line a muffin tin with paper cases.
MUFFINS
Mix the soft butter with the sugar and salt until white and creamy. Stir in the eggs until combined. Mix the flour with the cocoa and baking powder and fold it in alternately with the milk and espresso.
Color the dough as desired with the food coloring paste. Using a large scoop, pour the dough into the paper cases. Bake the muffins in a preheated oven at 180 °C O/U for about 20 minutes. Take them out of the oven and let them cool completely
FROSTING
Mix the soft butter with the powdered sugar until creamy. Add the cream cheese, cocoa and vanilla extract and color the cream as desired with the food coloring paste.
CUPCAKES
Fill the cream into a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe it decoratively onto the cooled muffins. Keep them cold until serving. Have fun baking, your Sally!
